Moffett, named for Dr. M'Ledge Moffett, the first Dean of Women at RU, also houses the Student Health Center. The Center operates as an outpatient clinic on the ground floor and is open Monday through Friday.

Pocahontas houses the Living/Learning Center for Cultural Diversity, and Fairfax houses Philosophy and Religious Studies. Buchanan House, a building adjacent to Moffett and behind Bolling, is home to the Appalachian Regional Studies Center. The Center features the Appalachian Folklife Archives and is host to the Highland Summer Conference.
